Where are Erika and Benjamin Sifrit now? Details explored ahead of Very Scary Lovers on Oxygen

Erika and Benjamin Sifrit, a married couple from Pennsylvania, were convicted for the murders of Joshua Ford and Martha Crutchley in Ocean City, Maryland, in 2003. For the crime Erika committed, she is serving a life sentence plus 20 years at the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women in Jessup. Days later, they were apprehended during a burglary at a Hooters restaurant, where police found the victims' identification in Erika's possession.

The story of their case will be featured in the upcoming episode of Very Scary Lovers which will be hosted by Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg. The episode is all set to premiere on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 10:00 PM ET/PT on Investigation Discovery.

In 2002, Erika and Benjamin Sifrit, a married couple from Pennsylvania, were convicted for the homicide of Joshua Ford and Martha Crutchley in Ocean City, Maryland. Erika is presently serving a life term plus 20 years at the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women in Jessup. Benjamin is currently serving his 38-year sentence at Roxbury Correctional Institution in Hagerstown. He was denied parole in April 2022 and is set for mandatory release in 2030.

The Sifrits met Ford and Crutchley at a nightclub in Ocean City on May 25, 2002. After socializing, they invited the couple to their condominium. There they (the couple) accused Ford and Crutchley of stealing Erika's purse, which led to a violent confrontation. Joshua Ford was shot multiple times, and Martha Crutchley was also killed. The Sifrits dismembered the bodies and disposed of the remains in a Delaware landfill.

The Sifrits were arrested on May 31, 2002, while burglarizing the Hooters restaurant in Ocean City, Maryland. Some identification belonging to the murder victims was found with Erika when the police made her arrest. During interrogation, she confessed to the murders and took the police to the dumping grounds. The evidence seized includes dismembered remains of the victims as well as personal items connecting the Sifrits to the activity.

In separate court trial, Benjamin was found guilty of the second-degree murder and first-degree assault of Crutchley, receiving a sentence of 38 years. Erika was convicted of first-degree murder in the Ford case and second-degree murder in the Crutchley matter, receiving a sentence of 20 years plus life imprisonment.
