Gachiakuta premieres on July 6, 2025. Set in a floating city called the Sphere, it follows Rudo Surebrec, a slum dweller framed for murdering his foster father, Regto, and exiled to the Pit, a trash-filled abyss. Produced by Studio Bones and Tokyo Games, the series blends gritty action and graffiti-inspired visuals.

Crunchyroll streams the episode globally with subtitles and dubs. The manga, serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2022, has 15 volumes. Fans expect a visually striking debut with themes of inequality and rebellion.

Episode 1 Premieres July 6, 2025, Launching Rudo’s Vengeful Quest

Gachiakuta episode 1 airs July 6, 2025, at 11:30 PM JST on CBC, TBS, and 26 affiliated channels in Japan, with Crunchyroll streaming it at 7:30 AM PDT for international viewers. The episode adapts the manga’s opening, serialized since February 2022 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. Rudo Surebrec, voiced by Aoi Ichikawa (Japanese) and Bryson Baugus (English), is a tribesfolk teen framed for Regto’s murder. Exiled to the Pit, he encounters Trash Beasts, monsters born from waste.

The trailer, posted on Gachiakuta’s X account, shows Rudo’s trial and fury. Directed by Fumihiko Suganuma, with scripts by Hiroshi Seko and music by Taku Iwasaki, the episode features the opening “HUGs” by Paledusk and ending “TOMOSHIBI” by DUSTCELL. Crunchyroll’s “World Takeover” event screened it early in 15 countries on July 4, 2025. The manga’s 15 volumes, with Volume 5 in English by January 2025, highlight its cyberpunk-streetwear aesthetic.

Rudo’s Wrongful Exile Ignites a Revenge-Driven Story

Episode 1, airing July 6, 2025, depicts Rudo Surebrec’s framing for the murder of his foster father, Regto, and his banishment to the Pit. The trailer shows Rudo’s trial, his bloodied mouth, and glowing eyes, capturing his rage and despair. In the Sphere, cleanliness equals purity, and tribesfolk like Rudo, descended from criminals, are despised.

Regto, a junk collector voiced by John Burgmeier, is killed by a mysterious figure, per MyAnimeList. Rudo’s exile to the Pit, a wasteland of trash and monsters, sets up his vow to avenge Regto and expose the real killer. The episode introduces the Cleaners, led by Enjin (Christopher Wehkamp), who fight Trash Beasts with Vital Instruments, though Rudo’s recruitment likely occurs in Episode 2, per the manga’s second chapter. The graffiti-inspired art by Hideyoshi Andou enhances the dystopian vibe.
